Professor Mike Thelwall, Head of Statistical Cybermetrics Research Group at University of Wolverhampton, will introduce the concept of Web Impact Audits and explain what cybermetrics and informetrics mean and how they can be applied to a business.
Mike heads up the Cybermetrics Research Group that develops software and methods to analyze new internet-based information on a large scale. This includes a specialization of blog analysis, hyperlink analysis, and web text analysis.
The Cybermetrics Research Group has developed a Web Impact Audit that can provide a certified assessment of the online impact of a web site, brand, idea or document in comparison to competitors. This is extremely useful for web designers, search engine optimisers, marketers and strategists together with any company that is thinking of investing in or already has a website.
